Ingredients Of An Ideal Systemic Proteolytic Enzyme Formula, According To Jon Barron (continued)
-
The Non-enzymes in a Systemic Proteolytic Enzyme Formula
-
Rutin
- bioflavonoid found in citrus and buckwheat
- helps the body utilize vitamin C and produce collagen
- can be used to treat hemorrhoids, varicose veins, high blood pressure, and to reduce cholesterol levels
- increases the elasticity of the arterial walls⇒ greater blood flow, improved vascular health
- improves capillary strength and regulates their permeability
- Anti-inflammatory
- may be anti-carcinogenic
- inhibits the formation of blood clots
- along with trypsin, enhances the effect of the bromelain
- mirrors the benefits of the proteolytic enzymes, but different pathways
-
Ginger
-
COX-2 inhibitor
- COX-2 enzyme-key role in the inflammation process (normal, healthy attempt by the body to heal itself)
- when inflammation gets out of control (arthritis, etc), ongoing pain and discomfort is the result
- systemic inflammation= contributing factor to catastrophic illnesses (heart disease and cancer)
- a botanical COX-2 inhibitor can block the action of the COX-2 enzyme without the side effects
- reduce oxidative stress, apoptosis, and inflammation have a protective effect on the diabetic brain, as well as sugar induced inflammatory damage to the kidneys
- may play a role as a memory-enhancing and anti-oxidant agent against neurological diseases, anti-neuroinflammatory effects (protect against Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s)
- uses different, complementary pathways to the proteolytic enzymes
